BookLikes -> Goodreads Synchronization OR: How booklikes made me finally tidy my shelves! :D

Reblogged from BookLikes:

Good news for those who like BookLikes and Goodreads and want to stay active on both. Now you can synchronize your Goodreads profile with your BookLikes webpage. Just c
onnect your GR account in Booklikes Settings/Import and fill up your both bookshelves at one go from your BookLikes webpage.

To synchronize your Goodreads account with your BookLikes webpage, follow these two steps:

1. Go to Settings/Import and connect your Goodreads account.

2. Enjoy shelving and reviewing books on BookLikes and have them published on both sites.

BookLikes -> Goodreads synchronization includes:

  • adding books to shelf,
  • adding shelves,
  • posting a review,
  • rating books.

Once you do one of those things on BookLikes, they will be published on your both sites: here on your BookLikes webpage and on your Goodreads profile. Please note that during this process we're dependent on Goodreads technology and some synchronization delays concerning adding books on your Goodreads shelf and posting a review may occur.

Please remember that BookLikes -> Goodreads book match is possible thanks to ISBN. If the book lacks the number or is unavailable on Goodreads with the given ISBN, it may not appear on your Goodreads bookshelves.

The synchronization will be active from the moment you connect your GR account on BookLikes. If you would like to fill up your BookLikes profile with your past book entries from Goodreads, you can do that by importing your csv file from Goodreads with your book collection, bookshelves, reviews and ratings in Settings/Import. Sarah Kane: Complete Plays

Complete Plays - Sarah Kane, David Greig Reading Sarah Kane was like getting punches in the stomach, in the mouth and in the vagina.

Why am I having so many followers all of the sudden?

Don't get me wrong, I'm not complaining. This is actually a positive thing, if it's happening to everyone. One of the things that usually make people give up on a new networking site is the lack of people to interact while their friends don't sign-up. I'm just puzzled because so far I've only been light testing this place, haven't fully used it yet. Perhaps you're my friends and I'm just not recognizing the names (some I did, though). If so, sorry about that. But really. Why? O.o

EDIT:

Just realized I'm not going to get replies to this because I haven't setup a Diqus acc. for this yet. Oops! Anyway, my twitter is @eloisavaldes, feel free to poke me there while I keep procrastinating on making a new email to use with Disqus for this. :B

EDIT 2: Ok, you can now comment, DIsqus setup done. Btw, my shelves are wonky. A lot of things unshelved and on my currently-reading list appears a book I never even heard of. If you're part of the BookLikes team don't worry. 1. I know what beta means. 2. I'm compiling my thoughts to send all the feedback by email.

Vamps & Tramps: New Essays

Vamps & Tramps: New Essays - Camille Paglia This book here is the main guilty one I ended up where I am, academically - for better or for worse.

American Gods

American Gods - Neil Gaiman So far, I'm loving it. :,)
Reblogged from Bookish Quotes:

It sure is my comfy zone. However, I'm not reblogging because of that, and even less because someone said so. Nope. This is a feature functionality test. :B

Adventure Time Vol. 1

Adventure Time Vol. 1 - Branden Lamb, Shelli Paroline, Ryan North I loved it. I could even hear their voices while reading (and know I was not going cuckoo).

Riveted (A Novel of the Iron Seas)

Riveted - Meljean Brook Look at me, Sj! 2 books (that aren't comics), aaaand in two days! :D

The Realm of Possibility

The Realm of Possibility - David Levithan Sweet and poignant, these words cannot and should not be unread.- You've been warned. That's all I'm going to say.

Mina Wentworth and the Invisible City

Mina Wentworth and the Invisible City - Meljean Brook I devoured it just like the previous one. Damn steampunk smut is good. Damn! I feel like a 17 year old again. :x

Punk Rock Jesus

Punk Rock Jesus - Sean Murphy Sj told me it was her latest fav comic book series and I got curious. The premise was interesting, if the title itself wasn't enough - a clone baby jesus being brought up by a reality show, so to speak. Also, there was punk rock involved. It was sure to lure me in from the start, but it didn't fully convince me until issue 3. Then, when I noticed, I had already read every issue and the story was over and I wanted more. D:

Solanin

Solanin - Inio Asano It didn't take much time for me to realize Solanin would be a hard read for me. Too close for comfort, like a friend of mine says. Well, indeed it was, but I regret nothing about reading this book! And the drawings are amazing, sometimes its usage of light reminds me of an old black and white photograph. Now, please, pretend I gave you a chilling description of how good this Manga is and go read it so we can sigh about it together. Kthxbai.

Peter Panzerfaust Volume 1: The Great Escape TP

Peter Panzerfaust, Volume One: The Great Escape - Kurtis J. Wiebe, Tyler Jenkins Another Kurtis Wiebe's that does not disappoint.

Coraline: The Graphic Novel

Coraline - Neil Gaiman, P. Craig Russell I was going to read this one like hot tea, sipping a few pages once in a while not to burn my tongue, but mister Gaiman's words and mister Russel's illustrations had a fascinating power on me, much like the other mother. I was doomed. Couldn't put it down until I finished it and now I'll have nightmares with buttons. Bravo!

American Vampire Vol. 3

American Vampire Vol. 3 - Scott Snyder Great storyline, as always. I especially enjoyed the mini-series in the end, Survival of the Fittest.

Broken (Star Wars: Legacy, Vol. 1) (v. 1)

Broken (Star Wars: Legacy, Vol. 1) (v. 1) - John Ostrander Ahhh... what a nice beginning for a new chapter on the Star Wars saga. I hope Disney picks this up for the upcoming movies, or some tvshow or whatever. I think it'd play nicely beyond the comic book platform. *ducks for cover*
